The Opportunity:

Seeking a proactive and strategic Purchasing Specialist to lead sourcing initiatives, vendor management, contract negotiations, and inventory oversight. This role focuses on reducing total operational costs, optimizing stock levels, improving supplier performance, and driving overall procurement excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead supplier contract negotiations to secure favorable terms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and lead times to inform purchasing strategies
  • Negotiate vendor return agreements, including restocking fees
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage outsourcing procurement, scheduling, and vendor relationships
  • Ensure accurate and timely creation of purchase orders and pricing updates
  • Collaborate with production and planning teams to meet inventory and shipping deadlines
  • Resolve order discrepancies, damaged goods, and shipment variances
  • Manage procurement activities, including issuing RFPs
  • Support facilities management by coordinating contract services (e.g., plant maintenance, cleaning)
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, track stock movement, and identify slow-moving or obsolete items
  • Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts, ensuring reconciliation and reporting of discrepancies
  • Ensure adherence to purchasing policies, inventory control procedures, and safety practices
